How to drive

  1. Push the lever forward for power, back to brake, middle to coast. On a keyboard, use the up and down arrows.
  2. A train is heavy: start braking well before the platform.
  3. Stop with the dashed doors line on the orange STOP board. Within a metre is perfect.
  4. Then open the doors: the Doors button, or Space.
  5. Smooth starts and stops keep the coffee in its cup. A red signal means stop and wait.

Long before the light rail, electric Interurban cars ran between Seattle and Everett, from 1910 to 1939, through the stump farms that became Lynnwood. One of them, car 55, is restored at Heritage Park.
